We tend to have slimmish figures in this house. For a long time, I weighed more than everyone else (long before I was ever pregnant), and if you've ever seen me, I am not a big person.
So it was no surprise when her Majesty seemed to top off at 10 pounds despite having all day access to food and no need to move further than 20 feet all day long. Or when the Monster maxed out at a svelte 50 pounds even though everyone told us is was hard to keep a husky lean in a city as warm as Atlanta. Or when the Gremlin hovered on the VERY bottom of the growth chart (still does - she is almost 1 1/2 and is barely 20 lbs). So when we found out 2.0 was going to be a big boy, we weren't quite sure how to deal with that.
He was born 8 lbs even. He didn't even lose an ounce in the hospital. And now, 12 days later, I am pretty sure he has already put on a whole pound. Thank God the kid doesn't require me to carry him around ALL day like his sister did. My back cannot handle that this time.
All the girls in the house seem content with having a bigger, little brother. Last night the Gremlin tried to pick him up. It was a sweet gesture, and one I was thankfully there to prevent. I'm afraid that is never going to happen at the rate each of them is growing (or not growing).
In all honesty, things seem almost too good around here. 2.0 is sleeping well and eating well. He is gassy, but thankfully his sister taught us how to handle that like pros. The Gremlin is adjusting well. We get to spend time together each day and she likes to help out with 2.0. The Monster is content to cuddle with him a few times a week and make sure the Gremlin doesn't do any serious damage to him while I have my back turned.
I know it might be too early to call, but... I think we lucked out this time. :)
