Disclailmer - this photo is not from this morning. While this morning wasn't as good as yesterday, it most definitely wasn't this bad.
Some days, I wonder what I did to deserve these kids. Other days I am sure I am being punished for sins I've committed. The photo below is from the other weekend. And believe it or not, we weren't trying to kill her or take anything away from her. My husband was trying to feed her lunch. When that didn't go over too well, he simply wanted her to sit down and then he was goin to get her out of the chair.
I now totally know where the term snot-nose kid comes from. Oh My God! The stuff just pours out as if their faces were faucets. And it is constant. I will have just wiped her face off and gotten her to blow her nose ( yes, she knows how to blow her nose), and I turn around and she is covered in snot again. Where does it all come from? On the plus side, she seems to enjoy the taste of snot. ;)
The Monster is definitely feeling neglected. With two little ones, she doesn't get as much dedicated attention as she used to. And before 2.0, she and I were home together all day...alone, before my husband and the Gremlin got back. Now she has to share me with 2.0. She is definitely not happy. She keeps following me around the house from spot to spot. She looks up at me with these longing eyes. She even sticks her head between my legs and stands there directly under me. It is so sad. I give her belly rubs and talk to her when I can, but it doesn't seem like enough. :(
Update on 2.0...he has the most sensitive tummy on the planet. I've had to start pumping and bottle feeding him the milk to keep the gas down, and I can no longer eat broccoli, chocolate or citrus or drink coffee (even decaf). We have tried Mylicon and gripe water and while he seems to like them both, they don't seem to help much. The funny thing is, I am breastfeeding him at night with no issues. It is so weird.
Any way... here they are. I am keeping the photo of the Gremlin as big as possible so you can see the true greatness of the snot-fest. It is amazing.

love your posts sarrah. look forward to meeting 2.0.
ReplyDeleteThanks - when are you coming home? We would love to have you over to meet the kiddos.
DeleteI think this must be a period where their stomachs start becoming more sensitive because I remember Liam starting his fussy/colicy time in mid-October, which would've been the same point 2.0 is at now. Liam had no trouble at night either. God-willing, you can control this with pumping & bottle feeding. If not, don't be afraid to try the formula-for-a-week trick. I wish I'd started that sooner. Who knows if it would've still worked, but it was something.
