No one warned me that toddlers were more indecisive than a lost tourist trying to find the right street to turn on. Oh my God.
Daily we go through several examples of this. The one last night was typical. Walking out the door to take the Monster for a walk:
Me: "Gremlin, do you want your hat?"
Her: "No haat"
Me: "OK" putting said hat on the floor.
Her: "Haaaaat!!!!"
Me: "OK, here you go" handing her the hat.
Her: "Chacha" (thank you) taking the hat.
We get to the threshold...
Her: "NOOOO HAAAT!" throws it at my feet.
Her: "Haaaaat!" trying to pick it up from my foot while being dragged out the door by her father.
Her: "No hat" walking s..l..o..w..l..y down the steps.
Her: "Hat" after her father puts the hat in his pocket so we can make it to the gate.
This happened at least three more times before we got outside the gate.
I have to give her this, she is committed to what ever she wants at that moment. She is certain she wants something or certain she doesn't.
Thankfully, the standard toddler truth still holds true and she is easily distracted. Pick her up and point out a birdie or a kitty and you are golden. Until she decides she doesn't want to be up any more. ;)
Here are some shots of 2.0 hanging out in the Bjorn on the way to a race on Saturday morning and then happy that he smashed his face in his spit up this morning. Such a boy. ;)
